Concrete counter tops W0W! What an exciting Friday and Saturday for me, as I attended a course in regard to building concrete counter tops. 2 full days of hands on, with only an hour or so in the office. I shall fabricate, for the house that I am constructing, the counter tops, fire place hearths/ mantles, out door kitchen, plus the walls for showers. I do believe the highly (1200 grit) polished colored concrete, will dramatically enhance the black walnut cabinet doors and drawer fronts, constructed from reclaimed logs, which I trucked to lot and to be sawn with our portable mill. There will be pictures following of logs going through the mill and fabricating of concrete. For me there is a magical pleasure with attending courses and using the attained knowledge to create projects (plus still have all my fingers intact, although too big and too rough). The wife and I were conversing the other day and we believe that I have accumulated at least 3000 hours of classroom time including the 1800 hours during my electrical apprenticeships. For all you persons in the trades, the classroom is not an option....enroll and attend! If you have questions about the pros and cons of concrete countertops send me a message or call and I would be happy to assist.
